Diverse Ecological Theater Across Campus and Big Community ●Huayu Stage ●Co-Learning Project at Nanmen

The public art project “Diverse Ecological Theater Across Campus and Big Community-Huayu Stage‧Co-Learning Project at Nanmen”of the Taipei Mandarin Experimental Elementary School’s Joint Station-Building Construction consists of two parts of hardware and software. The software project explores the interaction between people and the public environment through the research and development of lesson plans and workshops. The hardware plan is the establishment of “Huayu Stage.” The two parts spread from campus to the outside, from school to the surrounding network with mutual enhancement. “Huayu State” and “discourse” are homophones, created by Mr. Ho Zheng-huan. Through the transformation of former Chun-Feng Stage, the work shows the transfer of the power of discourse and the transition from the educational perspective of discipline to enlightenment, reflecting the transformation of elementary school students in the metamorphosis process in their educational experiences. “Huayu Stage” blurs the image of the commander stand and highlights the concept and core idea of the project. It provides a place for effective public conversations for teachers and students, assisting the implementation of the software project. Taking teachers and students as its central figures, the project allows them to practice and accumulate artistic experiences in participating discussion of public space on campus further cultivating civic literacy, and achieving vibrant and constant re-activating energy of public art.
